03/04/08: Thanks so much, Hairhead!!

I am almost certain the film is "Carry On, Sergeant." I had originally ruled all the Carry On movies out because, as I recall, most of those were rather bawdy and I didn't remember this one as being that sort of humor. But judging by the Wikipedia entry for it, I think it's the right one. I'll see whether I can track it down at the library or the local Blockbusters and let you know.
