To the guest reviewer (as indicated by the subject line above) you are an idiot! Bridges isn't the "bad guy" because he wants to continue to "sell weapons to help the U.S. on the war on terror," he's the "bad guy" because he's double- dealing TO the terrorists (it's how they got Stark's weapons in the FIRST PLACE!).
Now, I don't know if it's that you didn't actually SEE the movie and just based your "review" on watching the trailer, or if the subtleties of things like PLOT and DIALOGUE just escape you? Maybe it's that you didn't UNDERSTAND the movie, and if this is the case, I would be seriously impressed because I wouldn't think that someone lacking that kind of mental dexterity would be able to utilize a computer let alone write!
But in the end, it isn't your idiocy or even your inability to construct a provoking review that turns your readers off. It's your blatant proselytizing (look the word up) from the right-wing (you claim not to be a Republican but your language is brazenly conservative) playbook of empty rhetoric that shuts this review down. This is not the forum for that sort of polemic discussion (especially when you are using it to chastise the filmmakers for something that YOU misconstrued).
What you FAIL to understand is that the movie is NOT outright against weapons manufacturing (the Iron Man suit, as EXPLAINED in the film, is after all one large and powerful weapon) but rather a promotion of rational thought before violent action and notions of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY in relation to power and creation. DUH.
Yes, it is a commentary on current events but most films ARE. Yes it has a liberal slant, but (again) most films DO. If you don't like it, why don't you stay home watching American Idol, eating freedom fries, and buying cheap shlock from China off the internet from Walmart.com?
Oh, and can I just say that *I* am offended by your usage of 9/11 as support of your argument? It is an insult to those who lost their lives in that tragedy and their families that all you hyped-up neo-cons haul the event out and wrap yourselves it it whenever they feel they need to inject validity into their flawed rationalizations. It was awful and horrific and should have NEVER happened, BUT STOP USING IT to elicit some sort of sympathy or emotional response for YOUR OWN MINDLESS INACCURACIES!
Also, I hope that you realize that by making statements like "When terrorists attack our country or our troops overseas, I say we ought to nuke them to kingdom come. ... In order to do that, we need weapons. It's that simple." you sound (if possible) even more like an idiot. It is NOT that simple and if you had any concept of the complexities of things like geopolitics or counterterrorism or MORALITY then you would understand that (but you obviously don't). There is no "United States of Terrorism" to Nuke and it is known that terrorists like to surround themselves with civilians (often CHILDREN). Should we just "Nuke" them and call it collateral damage? If that what your saying? That makes your a MONSTER. By making those statements, it makes you just as bad as the Islamic extremists who lambast America. You are sick and I can only hope that natural selection does its job and extracts you and those like you from humanity's future.
Now,I am sincerely sorry to have wasted some much time on you, Have a nice day.
Sincerely,
Clair
